FUEL AND ENERGY / MEASUREMENT

Make the calculation
traceable.

Keep the baseline, operating normalization, observation window and annualization assumptions separate.

01

Baseline

The published field result used a 90-day operating baseline across 118 vehicles at one depot.

02

Post-change observation

The reported comparison used a complete 31-day post-change period and a normalized fuel-intensity reduction of 8.1%.

03

Annualized estimate

The published annualized estimates are 168,339 litres, $260,925 in fuel cost and 448 tonnes of project-level CO₂e. These are distinct from observed-period totals.

04

Scenario model

The public calculator multiplies annual baseline litres by the assumed reduction. Avoided fuel cost uses the entered unit price. Emissions use the stated 2.66 kgCO₂e per litre illustration factor.

05

Accounting boundary

A project savings calculation is not a carbon credit, an inventory adjustment or a guarantee of future savings. Keep fuel cash savings separate from labor, reporting and internal carbon values.

CALCULATOR

Litres saved = annual baseline litres × assumed reduction
Fuel cost saved = litres saved × fuel price
Tonnes CO₂e avoided = litres saved × factor ÷ 1,000
